As the Head of HR,you will play a pivotal role across all facets of our operations, collaborating closely with every department head and all directors to deliver our shared vision.
About the role: The purpose of this job role is to provide a first-class HR service provision from day-to-day operational HR processes through to strategic organisational development activities.
Key responsibilities: Support company growth through best practice people management.
Give advice in accordance with legislation and our company policies to achieve the company people strategy.
Assist and develop managers by guiding them through HR processes, for example recruitment, absence management, negotiation, managing change and handling challenging conversations.
Lead managers CPD, support managers in identifying learning & development and specific training needs and delivering in-house training.
Demonstrate a strong ethos and inspire trust.
Demonstrate disability awareness.
Ensure departmental inductions are completed and there is effective onboarding of employees.
Further develop documentation such as the Employee Handbook and the collation, coordination and reporting on Performance Development Reviews (PDR's).
Ensure mandatory training is completed within probation periods.
To set up (and delete for leavers) system access and licenses.
Create HR related reports where required for the Board.
Manage employee relations, investigations, disciplinaries or grievances as required. Coach and advise managers on employee relations matters.
Improve automation e.g., the HR database and company polices.
Actively support employee wellbeing across the company.
Act as Mental Health First aider to all employees, actively promote resources for employees.
Effectively maintain contracts of employment, references and induction coordination for all new starters in line with best practice.
Liaison with external payroll processing on starters, leavers and internal changes.
About you: The ability to communicate at all levels is essential to be effective in this role and to build relationships at all levels across the business.
The job holder will be dedicated to providing the highest quality which meets the needs and requirements of customers and the organisation and will be committed to continuous improvement.
Of paramount importance to the role is the ability to operate with tact and diplomacy, presenting a professional and customer focused face of the department when dealing with sensitive and confidential personal details, salary information and performance management/development activities.
Background Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience of working as a minimum at HR Manager level is essential, dealing with all levels of employees and managers.
Experience of completing annual pay reviews.
Experience of full TUPE process between two or more companies.
Experience in initiating improvements to ISO and other accreditations.
Has intermediate level IT skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and previous use of an HRM system is essential.
Proven experience which demonstrates pro-activity, attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks as well as confidentiality and sensitivity.
This role requires the candidate to have completed their Level 5 MCIPD qualification.
