Roles and Responsibilities:Position finance systems, policies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the FoundationDrive institutional budgeting process, implement robust budget monitoring systems and review mechanisms, recommending cost reduction strategies and the correct allocation of budgetsOversee the taxation affairs of the organisationContribute to income generation strategies, and provide input on fundraising plans and proposalsStay abreast of changes to legislation and regulatory requirements for the NPO sectorContinually conduct risk management analysis on the financial health of the organisationOversee cash flow movements and cash flow requirements and ensure that appropriate treasury controls are in placeSupervise the management of the internal and audit processes, ensuring recommendations are implemented and audit issues are resolvedOversee the preparation of the annual financial statementsOversee commercial decision-making, when necessary, in relation to licensing agreements, merchandise sales and royalty incomeDrive the recruitment, training, mentoring and development of new staff membersPresent finance reports to the Board of Trustees and relevant sub-committeesCultivate and maintain positive and conducive working relationships with staff and stakeholdersDrive internal compliance with financial policies, processes and systems Qualifications and Requirements:Postgraduate Degree in Finance/Financial Management or AccountingMembership with relevant professional body (SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA etc.)5-7 years applied experience in Accounting/Finance/Management Accounting/Business Management3-5 years management experienceNGO/NPO experience advantageousCorporate governance and ethics; King III/IV, risk management, finance management, company and NPO Acts, and the purpose and duties of Boards
