This position reports to the Group Head of Advertising Your responsibilities will include: Expand the TALs RMN commercial activities and generate revenue streams for sustainable financial growthRecruit, manage and mentor and performance manage the new business development and the client service teamEstablish sales management processes, monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics, and prepare reports for executive managementDevelop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growthAccountable for the overall sales performance, understanding core challenges affecting sales performance and implementing holistic changes that measurably remedy the core challenges identified.Accountable for all sales performance and revenue targets, developing and implementing sales strategies, forecasting and pipeline building, and budget planning.Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.
)Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met and indirectly drive profitable growth for TALAct to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, retail buying, BI data, legal, finance, and product teams, etc.
)Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholdersAssist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoringCommercialize the TAL offering, own, update and maintain the Takealot Advertising Rate Card.Support and advise on the productization of the TAL offering, packaging, and monetization of the advertising services.Identify emerging opportunities and market shifts while being fully aware of competition, devising strategies to win market share and be the leader in Africa for Retail Media Advertising.Work with the advertising product team to build & commercialize bespoke advertising solutions and create improvements/efficiencies to the sales processes through technology.Ensure all material and interactions presented to customers are of a world-class standard Qualification & Experience: BSc/BA/MA in business administration, marketing, finance or related fieldA candidate with a proven track record of sales management success hitting targetsExecutive-level client management experienceMinimum of 7 years experience in a sales role within a Digital Marketing/performance marketing, Advertising spaceMinimum of 5 years managing a teamExperience in an eCommerce and or Retail environment Minimum Required Competencies: Proven experience in scaling a business and meeting targets as a Sales / Commercial / New Business DirectorProven track record in delivering projectsIn-depth knowledge of market analysis and statistics Skills, knowledge & abilities: Highly proficient commercial management skill set; with a strategic mindset and sales focusStrong leadership characteristics to help guide & motivate a sales team to achieve its business goals/revenue targetsAbility to identify key revenue opportunities and translate these into implementable plansAnalytica skills with hands-on experience in creating reportsExcellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skillsOutstanding communication, and presentation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence teams across various business unitsProven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clientsIn-depth knowledge of the digital advertising space, with an in-depth understanding of market research methods and analysisKnowledge of performance reporting and financial processesFast learner and ability to thrive in a dynamic and high pace environment.Drive implementation of key projects.Systems thinker with the ability to understand and break down complex problems and relationshipsCreative and practical problem-solving skills; solution-orientedEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and achieve a wide set of goals and objectives in a challenging and changing environmentResilience and perseverance to overcome challenges to achieve objectivesA high level of integrity and respect with a growth mindset The Environment:
