Report regularly to the Principals on departmental matters as and when required. Responsibility and accountability for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the General Studies Department in line with the school's strategic plans and direction. Have clear objectives for the General Studies Department, for each grade and for the teaching staff within the department. Consult with the academic staff and delegate academic and other duties to them. Monitor the progress of staff during their probation periods. Carry out annual staff appraisals. Develop the necessary syllabuses and liaise with the examining boards and examiners as required. Attend to academic and administrative matters within the department. Develop and sustain appropriate structures for management, consultation, decision-making and communication with staff and students. Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards and put in place the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance and improvement. Keep abreast of developments of teaching techniques and the impact of new technologies. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
