Organisational Effectiveness (Learning and OD)
Job Purpose To manage the Learning and Development function effectively and efficiently to ensure business objectives are met for current and future challenges, in line with Nedbank's business strategy.
Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure transformational targets are met through consideration of targets, the learning nomination process of learners and utilising suppliers listed on the preferred supplier list for retail.Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals and support business strategies that improve the corporate image by ensuring self, managers and team participation in Nedbank culture building initiatives.Ensure issues raised in culture survey are addressed and results are improved by ensuring action plans are created.Deliver a world-class service through others by ensuring a client-centric culture through required interventions.Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through promoting multi-skilling and addressing capacity gaps by reviewing and improving work processes.Give guidance and advice to ensure alignment between divisional and retail plans/initiatives targets.Ensure efficient utilisation of resources across various divisions through regular feedback and influencing.Manage client service delivery through monthly meetings and reviews in group and individually as part of governance and as per business needs.Ensure stakeholders are on target through monthly feedback from individual business units and providing guidance and advice regarding delivery and new ways of finding optimal solutions for business needs.Build and maintain external stakeholder relationships through monthly meetings and regular updates.Monitor budgets through reporting; operating within budgets or targets, forecasting and giving advice and guidance.Ensure due process is followed by capturing of data within Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and set timelines.Optimise efficiency and embed correct values by ensuring direct reports understand and support Nedbank's vision, values and strategy and are measured on delivery against these.Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports by implementing performance agreements, ensuring a clear vision, agreeing on goals and objectives, providing regular feedback on performance, recognising and rewarding achievement and taking appropriate corrective action where required.Identify relevant development needs by assessing own performance and behaviour through formal and informal feedback.Drive to execute own and direct reports planned development by attending learning, seeking coaching or other industry or technical learning events and opportunities.Maintain a capable high-performing team by identifying a talent pool through conducting career conversations and utilising the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes.Build depth of skills and knowledge in the team of managers by sharing knowledge and insight with team members during mentoring, coaching and day-to-day activities.Ensure continuous improvement goals are achieved by creating an environment whereby self, managers and team are encouraged to challenge the status quo by initiating constructive debates about work practices and areas for improvement.Improve productivity and reduce costs by improving work processes through offering innovative ideas and input and soliciting input from managers and teams.Job Responsibilities ContinueUnderstanding of L&D framework and practicesAbility to understand L&D Strategy and translate into deliverables.Work at a high level as well as in detail.Knowledge of building Academies and Centres of ExcellenceKnowledge and understanding of Digital Learning PlatformsKnowledge and understanding of building Talent PipelinesEssential Qualifications - NQF LevelProfessional Qualifications/Honour's DegreePreferred QualificationAdvanced Diplomas/National 1st DegreesMinimum Experience Level8-10 years relevant functional and management experienceTechnical / Professional KnowledgeBudgetingBusiness administration and managementBusiness principlesBusiness terms and definitionsBusiness writingCapacity planningChange managementClient service managementCommunication StrategiesDiversity managementEmployee training/developmentOrganisational behaviour theoryPrinciples of project managementRelevant Nedbank product knowledgeRelevant regulatory knowledgeStrategic planningTalent managementManagement information and reporting principles, tools and mechanismsGovernance, risk and controlsBuilding PartnershipsDecision MakingInspiring othersGuiding Team SuccessDriving for ResultsPlanning and Organizing
