Safari JOBS is searching for a Head Guide for a world renowned 5* safari property situated in a prime area of Mpumalanga.
The main role of the Head Guide is to be responsible for providing an all-encompassing wildlife experience to every guest with a focus on catering to the specific needs of each individual guest.
Minimum Requirements:
Clear criminal record and excellent employment track record;
Minimum of 2 years work experience as a head guide in a similar lodge environment.
Minimum 2 FGASA qualification or similar qualification.
Advanced Field Guide certificate.
Registered as a field guide with DEAT.
SASSETA Certificates.
Valid South African Code 8 Driver's license.
Valid South African Public Driver's Permit (PDP).
Valid ARH.
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
An inherent passion for observing, sharing, and learning about wildlife and conservation.
Reporting skills.
Basic Labour Law knowledge.
Developmental approach to staff.
Stamina and Flexible.
Confident but humble.
Co-operative, innovative, and keen to work with the balance of the team in the interest of the lodge and the guests.
Camera and editing skills advantage.
Professional and neat appearance.
South African nationality or valid working visa.

Responsibilities:
The Head Guide reports to the General Manager.
Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the guiding department, by planning and implementing Strategic Management Plans.
Management of relations with the relevant reserve management (SSNR/KNP or other).
Overseeing and controlling guiding-related budget lines.
Ensure the highest quality of game experience for the guests.
Hosts guests in line with the establishment's Standard of Excellence.
Ensure that people's safety is always a priority.
Communication with departmental teams to ensure that guest needs are met, and operations run effectively.
Oversee maintenance, tidiness and care of vehicles and other equipment.
Undertake administrative duties as allocated.
Undertake ongoing process of self-improvement and knowledge enhancement; and that of their team.
Achieve service excellence through teamwork.
Contributing photographs for the establishment's social media outlets.
Active participation in and effective communication and support of the establishment's conservation message and purpose.
Compensation and Benefits:
