Our client, a franchisee of a well-known and popular fast-food brand, is seeking a Financial Accountant to lead their accounting team at their head office in Kuils River, Cape Town.REQUIREMENTS: Min Qualifications & ExperienceComm Accounting Degree or EquivalentCompleted Articles (SAICA or SAIPA)3-5 years post Articles Accounting experience Experience & Skills – Required:Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) (External Auditors is responsible for formal Financial Statements )GAAP experience advantageousExperience working with Sage Evolution and/or other accounting packageExcellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Analytical skillsAttention to detailAbility to work under pressure, meet deadlinesPro-active personalityProblem solving abilitiesAbility to work in a close-knit teamStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsProven Leadership experienceSouth African ResidentFluent in EnglishValid driver's licenceResponsibilities:FinancialFull financial function of multiple statutory entitiesPreparation of consolidated Management Accounts in line with the deadlines on the financial calendar (accurate and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements)Cashflow reporting and forecastingPreparation of consolidated Statement of Financial Position with its various audit filesEnsure accuracy of journal capturingUpdate income tax and deferred tax calculationManaging accuracy of fixed asset register on a rolling basisCollation of various financial reports to be used in Financial Management of the businessMonthly reporting to executive committeeAnalysing financial results of individual business units / cost centres against budgeted figures.Investigation and corroboration of variancesReconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returnsLiaising with SARS/ tax practitioner on all tax related issuesResponsible for year-end audit by External AuditorsResponsible for Creditors reconciliations and paymentsReview and approval of all paymentsReviewing of Cash cycle & Bank reconsLiaising with Bank on financing and banking related issuesLiaising with FranchisorCoordination and planning of the annual budget processAd hoc tasks to be received from CFO PeopleManaging team of >10 accountantsManaging three member Creditors TeamManaging reporting deadlinesProviding leadership and structureCoaching and mentoring the team as well as the individual personnelPerformance evaluation and -management of finance team members General:Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
