To contribute towards business success by directing the smooth operation of the Automation Function and ensuring optimum performance of this business in line with the overall Nedbank business strategy and relevant strategic imperatives.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide broad overall direction for the Automation Design, Automation Management, Automation Operations Support and Automation Business Shift functions and ensure that there is an agreed design philosophy that can be justified against global leading practices.Take overall accountability for the financial and operational performance of the Automation Functions and ensure that there is an agreed management and support philosophy that can be justified against global leading practices.Participates in the development of the organisational vision and strategic objectives and ensures that these are cascaded and aligned within the business; and that appropriate organisational structures, budgets and other resources are available to achieve the strategic objectives.Establishes and ensures maintenance of effective action orientated performance management systems and processes within the Business and facilitates effective cross Divisional partnerships.Oversee and manage the standards and governance aspects related to Automation Design, Automation Management; Automation Operations Support and Automation Business Shift functions.Oversee the identification and mitigation of the Automation Function risks and manage the impact of these risks on the up and down stream value chains within the broader Nedbank business.Enable and support the research of global leading Automation Design, Automation Management, Automation Operations Support and Automation Business Shift practices and facilitate the integration of these practices into the business design environment and Automation Functions model.Empower and back up the Automation Functions teams and promote the agreed design philosophies at all levels on the larger business.Ensure the establishment and effective functioning of appropriate performance management systems and practices at all levels of the Automation Business.Sets direction for and facilitates the development of dynamic strategies and strategic imperatives for the Automation Business;Co-ordinate and drive the cascading of these strategies at all levels within the Automation Business.Continually market and align the Automation Business Strategies within the broader Nedbank.Act as custodian for the creation of a growing Automation Community of Practice.Ensure the establishment and effective functioning of appropriate performance management systems and practices at all levels of the Automation Business;Analyse the integrated performance of the business and provide integrated and pro active reports to all required stakeholders;Ensure the creation and sustaining of a culture of accountability and consequence management within the business;Take and support appropriate, consequent and fair action to enforce performance standards and to recognise and reward excellent performance.Ensure that the compliance universe is correctly defined and continually refined;Ensure that adequate risk management practices are applied at all levels of the business.Define and drive world class governance practices at all levels of the business;Provide pro-active governance support upwards and across the various Nedbank business entities.Take accountability for compliance with all legal and ethical standards within the business.Continually research leading practices regarding organisational culture and appropriate business dynamics;Drive innovation and ensure learning from mistakes.Seek and motivate support from all levels for appropriate innovations.Manage expectations and moderate the speed of change and innovation to support the broader business requirements.People SpecificationEssential Qualifications - NQF LevelProfessional Qualifications/Honour's DegreePreferred QualificationMinimum Experience Level7 - 10 yearsA proven track record of managing large IT related projects within the Financial sector; Five years' experience in managing ICT/Automation development teamsTechnical / Professional KnowledgeAutomation DesignAutomation DevelopmentAutomation Operations SupportStrategic Planning and Resource MobilisationGovernance, Risk and ControlsFinanceStrategic InfluenceCultivating Networks and PartnershipsDriving ExecutionOperational Decision MakingSharing ResponsibilityLeading TeamsEmployment Equity StatementPreference will be given to underrepresented groups.
