OverviewWe are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. A brand new kitchen has just been completed with a major refurbishment of the bar restaurant and guest bedrooms due to complete early 2025. This will place the Golden Pheasant as one of the top destinations in the Cotswolds. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality food driven inns/hotels, with a flair for creativity and a commitment to quality. As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining high standards of hospitality within the business.
Duties
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to optimise profitability.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen protocols.
Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head or Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and hospitality standards.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Proficiency in kitchen management software and inventory control systems is advantageous.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
A passion for cooking with an understanding of various cuisines is highly desirable.
