Head Chef

RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced HEAD CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGER for a large growing concern, position based in the Midlands area, KwaZulu-Natal. Requirements Grade 12. Relevant Culinary qualification or equivalent experience. Valid drivers license / own reliable vehicle. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). 4+ years working experience in a supervisory role within a food services environment. Knowledge of grilling, baking and batch cooking is essential. Supervisory management. Manage a busy kitchen which involves: running everyday service, leading a team of 16 cooks, and maintaining a high and consistent standard of food production. Food costing / costing of dishes and purchasing. Stock taking and ordering. Understand the importance of hygiene in the kitchen and the necessity of keeping it clean. Management of rosters such as bin duty, cleaning duty, and extra shifts will also fall under the Head Chef. Must have a passion for food, be a team player, and a visionary. Willing to bring new ideas to the table and be inspired to produce new dishes. Salary package offered: To be discussed.
