Job Purpose The Hazmat Technician will excise the duty of responding to an incident and ensuring clean up and safe disposal of environmentally hazardous material. The Hazmat Technician is required to work according to the Health and Safety and Company Vehicle policies and procedures of the company. Hazmat Technicians are responsible for being fit for duty and are required to have mobile phone etiquette and mobile phone application skills.
Responsible For: Respond to every call received relating to an incident. Secure work on behalf of the company. Liaison with Operations Manager/Control Room regarding the incident and work progress on site. Confidentiality relating to incidents, company information and details. Risk related incidents must be reported to Operations Manager before any work carried out. Ensuring all necessary paperwork (call out form) is completed before job is started. Ensuring daily reports and photos are sent to operation department. Managing of company equipment, stock, PPE and consumables. Managing of Vehicle maintenance and upkeep. Client Liaison. Working in conjunction with Spill Response Manager/Supervisor. Compliance with H & S and company policies and procedures. Implement and maintain all Spill Tech Environmental policies, procedures, legislation and regulatory requirements. Ensures the impact of Hazmat Technicians' activities is understood and how it effects the Environment. Administration work related to capturing on OPUS, Near Misses and Planned Task Observations (PTO's). Minimum Requirements: Minimum of two years' experience as a Hazmat Technician. Valid South African Drivers license Code 10. Valid PDP/DGP Fire Fighter 1 Fire Fighter 2 Hazmat Awareness (SAESI) Hazmat Operations (SAESI) Matric Certificate Computer and Cell Phone Application Literacy Note: Suit candidate available immediately.
