Harvest Manager About Our Client: Our client, a leading berry farm in George, is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and target-driven Harvest Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal role in ensuring that the best quality fruit is harvested efficiently to meet customer specifications, both locally and for export. Purpose of the Role: The Harvest Manager will be responsible for managing the Harvest Department, ensuring optimal productivity, quality control, and compliance with industry standards. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role focuses on effective planning, leadership, and maintaining high standards in fruit harvesting operations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the productivity, labour management, and quality processes within the Harvest Department. Provide sound leadership to meet industry norms and deadlines while reducing field waste. Build and implement best practice policies and principles. Train and develop a team of harvest staff. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain high standards in line with industry quality assurance systems (HACCP, BRC, etc.). Ensure harvested fruit meets customer specifications for both local and export markets. Candidate Requirements: Tertiary qualification in a relevant field. Strong management experience, particularly in a labour-intensive environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong numerical and planning abilities. Self-disciplined, a team player, honest, and of high integrity. Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet set targets and deadlines. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required. Experience with quality systems (HACCP, BRC) is advantageous. Experience in harvesting soft fruit would be an advantage. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO HOUSING OR ACCOMMODATION IS PROVIDED Area: George.
