Half-Day Occupational Therapist Job In Outpatient Hand Therapy Practice In Pretoria

We are offering a half-day job for an Occupational Therapist at our Outpatient practice in Garsfontein, Pretoria. The job will only involve hourly outpatient consultations and there will be no hospital work. Diagnostic skills are essential. This job will provide a great learning and mentoring experience, which will help you expand your clinical expertise and become an exceptional hand therapist.
Role Description
As a medical professional, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients for various conditions related to pain, movement, and tissue damage. This includes establishing a hierarchy of priority, developing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and educating patients on injury prevention and management.
Requirements:

Expert knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics
Must have great clinical reasoning with keen diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Fluent in both Afrikaans and English
Experience and knowledge of various treatment techniques and modalities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and colleagues
Experience in orthopedic or hand rehabilitation is desired
Strong diagnostic skills to properly assess and develop treatment plans for patients
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple patient cases at once
Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Rate of pay: Basic Salary with bonus structure. Remuneration depends on your unique skill set and level of experience. Preference for post-graduate Diploma in Hand Therapy or similar qualifications and experience in an outpatient private setting.
