Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pipe Welder, with specific expertise in GTAW (TIG) welding on pipes. Valid welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, or other relevant certifications) are preferred. TIG/GTAW-specific certifications will be advantageous.Successful completion of a relevant Trade Test.Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, welding symbols, and piping diagrams to follow welding procedures.In-depth knowledge of GTAW welding process, pipe preparation, and the ability to weld materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy materials.Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clean, accurate, and structurally sound welds.Responsibilities:GTAW Pipe Welding:Perform high-quality TIG welding (GTAW) on various types of pipes, ensuring precise welds that meet industry standards and project specifications.Read and Interpret Technical Drawings:Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and piping schematics to accurately follow installation and fabrication instructions.Material Preparation:Prepare pipe and pipe fittings for welding by cutting, cleaning, beveling, and aligning the workpieces, ensuring proper fit-up.Weld Inspection:Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance, ensuring they comply with quality control standards. Make necessary adjustments and rework any welds that do not meet specifications.System Installation:Install and weld pipes and related components (e.g., valves, flanges, elbows) for a variety of industrial systems such as gas, steam, water, or chemical systems.Welding Process Control:Set up and calibrate welding machines to ensure optimal performance, including selecting appropriate welding parameters, filler rods, and shielding gases based on material type and thickness.Maintain Equipment:Regularly maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.Work with Other Trades:Collaborate with other welders, fabricators, and fitters to complete projects according to schedule and to resolve any technical challenges that arise during the installation process.Project Documentation:Complete necessary paperwork, including work logs, inspection reports, and material usage reports, as required by the project. If youre ready for an exciting new challenge, we want to hear from you!
