We are looking for a GROUP USED SALES MANAGER M/F based in South Africa .
Job Description: PURPOSE OF POSITION To assist the Divisional Executive in formulating used car sales policy.
To maximize sales and profitability for the given group.
To develop the necessary sales organization to meet sales and profitability objectives.
To ensure optimum stock of cars and distribute to group dealers fairly/adequately.
To ensure correct SIV and manage wholesale transactions.
To manage and drive departmental leads.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To train and develop sales department staff.
To identify departmental training needs in conjunction with training staff.
To ensure resultant training programmes are completed and adequate records maintained.
Establish and administer "in-dealership" training as required.
Establish and review sales basic pay and incentive schemes.
Ensure all administrative functions, returns, record keeping, and clerical operations are carried out at the appropriate time and kept up to date.
Review with the Divisional Executive all activities and reporting systems within the department.
Ensure that adequate safety and security procedures exist and are operated.
Monitor cleaning of used car stock/recon.
Monitor cleanliness of showroom, forecourt, and other sales-related areas.
Maintain good liaison with other managers.
Advise Divisional Executive and all other managers on sales matters.
Advise subordinates on appropriate sales-related matters.
Maintain direct liaison with manufacturer's representatives and all other contacts.
Propose special sales promotions as appropriate.
Ensure adequate stocks of car and product display material are available.
Formulate marketing plan and initiate car sales promotions.
Analyse local customer/car preference statistics and act on any anomalies detected.
Review all pricing policies, discounts, and "trade-in" dealing to maintain dealership/group profitability.
Monitor costs and general condition of demonstrator fleet.
Monitor credit and finance commission income to ensure budget requirements are met.
Ensure that all trading and stockholding of vehicles is within allocated floor plan facilities.
Any ad hoc admin/other responsibilities as and when required.
Profile Request: To qualify for consideration, the following requirements are essential: Proven track record in managing senior staff.
Ability to manage and administer a department, to provide organization, systems, and leadership.
Able to motivate a team to achieve objectives.
Clean criminal record.
Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle legislation, trade practices, prices, and market conditions.
