Title: Group Revenue Manager
Reporting to: Group Digital and Brand Executive
Position Summary
The Group Revenue Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing online revenue generation for Cresta Hotels' 19 properties across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. This role will involve managing online inventory distribution, rate management, reporting, budgeting, and ensuring that all channels are receiving accurate inventory and rates to drive revenue, occupancy, and ADR.
Key Responsibilities
Online Revenue Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive online revenue management strategies to maximize revenue generation across all 19 properties.
Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and demand patterns to optimize pricing strategies.
Monitor and adjust rates on SynXis and Protel to ensure optimal revenue performance.
Utilize AI driven tools, Atomize to yield.
Manage online inventory distribution to maximize revenue and occupancy.
Conduct daily pick-up analysis to identify opportunities for rate adjustments and inventory optimization.
Prepare and present monthly revenue reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and identifying areas for improvement.
Channel Management:
Ensure that all online channels are receiving accurate inventory and rates from the hotels.
Monitor channel performance and identify opportunities to optimize distribution.
Manage relationships with online travel agents (OTAs) and other distribution partners.
Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with distribution partners.
Revenue Target Achievement:
Develop and implement strategies to achieve online revenue targets, occupancy goals, and ADR targets for each property.
Monitor performance against targets and take corrective action as needed.
Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase revenue, occupancy, and ADR.
Budgeting:
Develop and manage annual revenue budgets for all 19 properties.
Forecast revenue, occupancy, and ADR based on market trends, historical data, and property-specific factors.
Monitor budget performance throughout the year and make necessary adjustments.
Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance and identify root causes.
Provide recommendations for budget improvements and cost-saving measures.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of reservations staff responsible in supporting Group Revenue Manager.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in revenue management, preferably in the hotel industry.
Strong understanding of revenue management principles and techniques.
Proficiency in using the following software's; Atomize, SynXis and Protel.
Proficiency in OTA's, GDS and Booking engine management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience managing teams and projects.
Desired Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of the hospitality industry in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
Experience working with international hotel brands or chains.
Familiarity with online distribution channels and their best practices.
Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and industry trends.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions
Full-time office job. Based in Johannesburg.
Work hours may vary depending on business needs and deadlines.
Some travel to properties may be required.
