The individual will be responsible for the Group Reporting and Financial Accounting.Line Manager: Finance Manager Group Reporting and TaxNumber of direct reports: 0Job Specification:Monthly reporting and accounting:Preparation of all consolidation monthly entriesPrepare the monthly Early estimation documents and income statementsPrepare the full month-end reporting pack with all relevant workings and supportAssist with answering queries on monthly results and reportsPreparation of Loadshedding schedulesPreparation of any additional monthly reportsQuarterly reporting and accounting:Preparation of all consolidation quarterly entriesPreparation of all additional quarterly reportsAssist with answering queries on quarterly resultsYear-end reporting and accounting:Preparation of any additional year-end accounting entries required for group and consolidationPreparation of year-end reporting pack with comparatives and additional disclosuresPreparation of additional reporting requirements for year endAssist with answering queries on yearly resultsDividends:Solvency and liquidity work papersAccounting entries and arranging for paymentsAssist with declarations to SARSAny ad hoc requests/schedules/queries from AVI or internallyContinuous maintenance and improvement of templates and standard operating procedures.Ad-hoc Finance related assistance on various projects that arise in the ordinary course of business to be dealt with effectively and promptly – Assisting all business units across the Group.Assist with deregistrations of entities and accounting workAudits:Assist with external audit requests and processAssist with internal audit requests and requirementsAssist with Information for BBEEE auditsPreparation of representation letters and additional questionnairesForecast and budget process:Quarterly and yearly budget process and full pack preparations & supporting work papersAnnual Financial Statements:Preparation of all entities' AFS on Draftworx with supporting documentationTo address all review notes internally (from FM and FD), and from auditors & AVIPreparation of related party schedules and supportAssist with all finalization documentationCalculate PIS scores for each entity and report to company secretaryConversions of AFS in Draftworx to XBRL formatBoard packs:Assist in preparation of work papers, support and presentation slidesSagers submissions and support to assist withSTATS SA submissions and questionnaires to completeDirect and indirect taxes:Assist Tax accountant in busy times with tax and deferred taxes (especially half year-end, year end, and provisional taxes with tight deadlines)Back-up for full Tax accountant position when neededMinimum Requirements:Experience:SAIPA or SAICA articles with 3 – 5 years post article experience in a reporting/financial accountant roleOr 4 – 6 years overall experience in reporting and AccountingQualifications:Bcom Accounting Degree at a UniversityCA (SA) would be advantageousAdditional requirements:Draftworx would be an advantageousExperience in preparation of income tax returns, VAT returns, provisional tax returns, dividend tax returns and carbon tax returns would be advantageousSAP advantageousAdvanced ExcelBI reporting advantageousCompetencies:Documenting FactsInterpreting DataAttention to DetailThinking AnalyticallyPlanning and OrganisingMeeting DeadlinesKeeping CommitmentsMinimising Risk
