Company: Consulting Engineering and Construction FirmOverview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant to join our dynamic team at our Consulting Engineering and Construction firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Responsibilities:Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective use of company resources.Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.Compliance:Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and tax laws.Prepare and submit statutory financial statements and tax returns in accordance with applicable deadlines.Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as required.Strategic Planning:Provide financial analysis and support to senior management in strategic decision-making processes.Participate in the development and implementation of business plans, including financial projections and investment evaluations.Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation to enhance the company's financial performance.Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.Stakeholder Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and project teams.Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.Payroll Management:Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including processing payroll inputs, calculating salaries, deductions, and benefits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data, including leave balances, overtime, and statutory deductions.Prepare and distribute payroll reports and ensure timely payment of salaries and related taxes.Qualifications:Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with membership of a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., SAICA, ACCA, CIMA).Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance principles.Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office suite.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.Join us and be part of a dynamic team driving excellence in the Consulting Engineering and Construction industry.
