A large and prominent group of companies is seeking to employ a Group Financial Accountant to their offices in Cape Town.
This established and diverse group has interests in the Engineering, Construction, Fabrication, Manufacturing, Logistics and Property sectors.
They are looking for an experienced financial professional with an inquisitive, dynamic, and analytical nature to take charge of this role.

The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA articles and will be registered or be eligible to register with a professional finance regulatory body.
Post articles experience in a similar role will be highly desirable, and experience in manufacturing, engineering or a related industry will be a definite advantage.
Working experience on Syspro or a related ERP system is a positive, as well as having worked within a group structure, managing multiple entities, intercompany loan accounts, etc.
The Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for the finance function of the group, overseeing the accounting and admin staff, and will report to the Group Financial Manager and the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts, including monthly variance reports for the MD.Assist with budget preparation.Final control of general ledger, accruals, provisions, depreciation and journals.Cash flow management.Review bank and suspense reconciliations and prepare other general ledger reconciliations.Prepare information for annual audits, including preparation of accounting packs, annual financial statements, lead schedules, etc.Manage Syspro modules – accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, work-in-progress and general ledger to trial Balance.Set up and create users, product classes, warehouses, client groupings, costings, etc.
in accounting system.Administration of vendor contracts, lease agreements, equipment rentals, etc.Supervision and control of accounting staff, including on-the-job training.Ensure all staff meet deadlines and tasks.Management of monthly salaries and weekly wage reconciliations and payment of monthly benefits (UIF, bargaining council, trade union fees, etc.
)Assist with BBBEE administration.Compilation of annual financial statements.Preparation, review and submitting of VAT, PAYE, SDL and other statutory tasks.Prepare, review and submit tax returns.
Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or similar.AGA(SA), PA(SA), CA(SA), CIMA professional qualification preferable.Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles.Post articles experience in a similar role will secure.Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience.Syspro or related ERP accounting software experience.Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level.Industry experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, industrial sectors, or related.Multi-company exposure in a group structure.
Remuneration:R480,000 to R660,000 pa ctc, depending on experience.13th Cheque.
