The CIO is responsible for the Groups management, implementation, and usability of information and computer technologies, including determining the Groups current systems and technology use, developing a strategy that will enable the Group to use technology to fast-trac its growth and value creation strategy and improve productivity and profitability, whilst ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Your: Formal Education: A bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in business management or IT management will be beneficial. Completed a senior management development program. Experience Minimum 15 years experience as CIO in information technology in financial services. 10 years management-level experience. will enable you to: People: Build and manage the team through effective recruitment and selection, as per the company strategy and expansion plan, performance management and talent management. Implement the companies employment equity plan. Processes: Create business value through technology by setting objectives and strategies for the IT department. Selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits. Designing and customizing technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience. Working with upper-level IT staff to develop and implement department goals. Staying abreast of emerging technologies that can improve IT department performance and increase company profits. Creating and implementing IT policies, protocols, and standards. Ensuring that IT department strategies and processes provide appropriate support to company-wide goals. Overseeing contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers. Communicating with other executives regarding costs, value, and risk-potential of new IT projects. Oversee the preparation and implementation of the annual IT business development plan in conjunction with the CEO and in accordance with the budget and business strategy. Monitor and report on operations. Direct and organize IT-related projects. Manage external service providers. Work with the Groups Support Services departments to implement all Group policies related to Compliance, HR, Finance and other services.
