Group BuyerSUITABLE EXTERNAL CANDIDATES ARE INVITED TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION: GROUP BUYER Requirements: Proof of grade 12 school certificate as well as formal certificate/diploma/degree other qualification in procurement/buying/stores management;Fluency in English (Reading, writing and speaking);Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word);Experience in larger computerized accounting systems;Must have good technical knowledge and previous exposure to heavy manufacturing equipment;Must have medium to larger company management experience;Proven experience as buyer with references essential (minimum 5 years' relevant experience in procurement);Experience in the saw milling industry advantageous;Knowledge of Navision advantageous;Good interpersonal and management skills;Self-driven and motivated;Own transport.Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer;Management & control of the procurement function and stores of a manufacturing concern, including maintenance and consumable stores;Procurement according to correct specs at best quality, best prices, lead time and terms;Source suppliers with a B-BBEE score as predetermined by company B-BBEE strategy;Source suppliers that can deliver to the company's business units to reduce transport costs;Identify appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationship with suppliers whilst ensuring the company keeps up with current trends, technology, products and services;Resolve problems arising from the purchase of goods and services;Keep stock holding to a minimum whilst keeping critical stock at optimum specs and levels;Compliance with admin and control procedures at all times;Utilising of stagnant stock;Management of company vehicles and its usage;Management of company diesel and fuel stocks;Management of stores staff;Accurate recording and on time recording of all stock item movements;Stock taking;Render continuous value adding service to stakeholders, including heads of departments, and creditor's departments;Ensure maximum security and control over stock at all times;Reduce downtime for plants through top class crisis management;Where required per policies/procedures, initiate tender evaluation procedure for higher value items;Maintain good housekeeping by keeping work area clean;Ensuring department's compliance to all safety regulations.EE/AA Candidates will enjoy preference according to company's EE plan, although all applicants will be considered, African Males and African Females are encouraged to apply.
