Group Biodiversity Coordinator

PRIMARY PURPOSE Join the Wilderness Group Impact team to play a key role in implementing and coordinating the company's Impact Strategy across multiple countries. This position focuses on amplifying the positive effects of Wilderness Group's operations on biodiversity conservation and community empowerment within the diverse landscapes where we work.
As part of this role, you will also be responsible for facilitating knowledge sharing by transferring insights and data from our field projects to the company's marketing teams, helping to communicate our mission and impact more effectively.
Detailed Responsibilities Coordination Ensure that all in-country Impact initiatives are aligned to the Wilderness Group Impact Strategy and that all associated funding arrangements for implementation of that work are signed off, as required, by the company and/or Wilderness Trust.Monitoring and evaluation: Coordinate with in-country Impact staff on the collection of various types of information from project partners and Wilderness teams implementing impact work. Help to develop and then implement the Group Impact monitoring framework for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on Impact Programmes.Work closely with the Group Head of Impact to identify project and partner opportunities to implement the Impact programmes in all of the companies operating countries.Work closely with the Impact administrator and finance manager to ensure projects funded by the Wilderness Trust are managed according to the highest standards of non-profit governance.Work closely with Wilderness partner non-profits to ensure alignment between their objectives and the objectives of the Impact Strategy.Reporting Maintain databases on biodiversity in Wilderness' area of influence and threats thereto;Develop and maintain databases on Wilderness interventions to address and reverse threats to biodiversity.Ensure that appropriate reporting frameworks are in place to assemble and analyse relevant Impact data.Work with Group Impact and marketing teams to design, develop and produce Impact Reports.Submit reports to relevant management structures within the Group as and when required.Marketing sustainability and raising awareness Develop a protocol for collaborating with Group Marketing team to ensure that they receive a steady and appropriate supply of Impact-related stories for marketing and PR purposes (e.g. newsletters, press releases, website, social media);Oversee collection of information from camps and Impact coordinators to provide information, data, etc. for Group Marketing for posters, social media, award applications, brochures, press releases, posters, infographics, etc. Assist with ideas, editing and finalisation of these.Provide advice and share learnings on Impact programmes and best practices with other regions, guests, camp and office staff and other stakeholders through regular presentations, information sharing, etc.Assist in developing standardised presentations for staff for the Impact storytelling and relevant projects, research and activities.CANDIDATE PROFILE Qualification: Masters Degree in a relevant field such as conservation biology, environmental science, etcComputer Literate with a good working knowledge of MS OfficeExperience: 5-10 years working experience in Sustainability/Impact/ConservationMinimum of 2 years working experience in a general management positionProven English literacy (read, write and speak fluently)Experience working in Africa, preferably in different countriesExperience working with local communities in AfricaExcellent writing and editing skillsStatistical analysis and reportingDevelopment and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks in a conservation and/or community development sphereSkills: Motivated self-starter with high energy levels and ability to conceptualize and implement strategy.Require flexibility, and accuracy with excellent attention to detail, especially under pressure.Service and results orientated. Analytical and logical approach to problem solving and decision making.Good communication skills both written and oral.Ability to engage in and support marketing efforts.Organised, methodical, systems-based administrator with good time management skills.Need a strong work ethic, overtime will be required during events.Need good interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with staff, guests, governments, NGOs, and academic institutions.Have a passion for the environment and making a sustainable difference.Interests: A passion for wildlife and a commitment to sustainability and conservation.
