Position SummaryCandidate should have extensive work experience in the field of Environmental, sustainability and climate change and have participated in project executions.Knowledge of Climate Change Policies, reporting standards, GHG Protocol, UNFCCC guidance and IPCC Guidelines.GHG Verifier will be reporting to Climate Change Business Head and also with global cross-functionality with the VVB (Validation & Verification Bodies).This role is focused on South Africa & Sub-Sahara Africa and will require conducting virtual and on-site verification audits, carbon accounting, emissions reduction strategy development, setting and achieving net zero targets, and providing GHG training as required.Should have excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to liaise and coordinate with the Government, Private and Investment clients.A qualified auditor with any accreditation/certification scheme like GHG, ISO 14065, ISO 14067, CDM, etc. is preferred.Responsibilities and AuthorityReview documentation and provide necessary feedback to the VVB to establish an accurate audit plan and report timelines.Perform greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions verifications for clients by conducting on-site and off-site audits of their operations, processes, and documentation, and work in a team of auditors and/or lead one.Respond to VVB and Project Developers queries about V&V reviews in a timely manner.Draft relevant documentation on the outcomes of the V&V projects.Maintain records and documentation of audits for continuation of ISO 14065 accreditation or others.Assist and/or deliver public and private greenhouse gas (GHG) trainings for clients.Support in preparation of project proposals for the sales team.Execute projects with expected results, prepare final reports, and represent the team.Communicate with various stakeholders internally and externally, including project developers, team members, and technical experts.Support the business head in preparation of relevant reports such as pipeline updates as required.Support in key client meetings as a technical expert.Education and ExperienceMinimum of a University degree or equivalent in the field of engineering, natural science, or related discipline.3+ years of professional work experience.Priority will be given to any professional qualifications or experience with GHG audit work.LocationThe candidate can either work from Johannesburg or Cape Town.
