Introduction
Research and interpret trends and design. Develop commercial product by creating original artwork (i.e. graphic design, sketches, hand painting, CAD) based on forward trend and range requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research by looking at trends, catwalks, blogs, look books, magazines, and social media.
Provide inspiration highlighting key graphic and print design messages for the season.
Create concept artworks in line with key influences for the season.
Liaise with designers and buyers to achieve design outcomes and sign off with buyers and designers.
Understand fabric/material manufacturing and print terminology & techniques to ensure accurate print execution.
Help deliver a considered trend and design brief together with the designer and Head of Buying, Trend and Design.
Create product-specific graphics & designs in Computer Aided Drawing (CAD).
Create mood boards, PowerPoint presentations, and print-ready textile design/graphics.
Update silhouettes/shapes for costing and technical packs on product for the season.
Conduct print/graphic research and development and techniques for workshops.
Benchmark to determine trends, analyze data, and edit information.
Select colours and specify dimensions for final print ready artworks to brief suppliers.
Format according to stakeholder capabilities.
Create print-ready artworks for suppliers.
Understand each stakeholder's expectations and requirements to achieve outcomes.
Maintain good relationships by understanding other functions within Fashion, Beauty & Home.
Understand our customer through store visits and competitor analysis in addition to regular brand benchmark analysis.
Develop strong partnerships with our Strategic Supplier Base & Key Print Houses to leverage their intel & successfully input it into our ranges.
Minimum Requirements
Graphic and/or Textile Design Diploma or Degree.
Minimum 4-5 years Design experience.
Ability to sketch and paint.
Computer literate and proficient at an intermediate level in the Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
