Job Description
Monitor and maintain quality of inventory and management of procedures and policies regarding the safe storage of grain. Developing and maintaining detailed operational reports and documentation to guide decision-making. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and organisational policies and procedures.
Requirements
Grade 12 certificateMinimum 3 – 5 years' experience in the Grain Handling and storage industryProven industry management experience of 3-5 years is essentialAll appropriate grain grading and silo operating courses are essentialConstantly adding value to the industry by realising the organizational, operational and strategic goalsComputer Literate in MS OfficeCode 8 Driver's License and own vehicleWilling to travel dailyClear Criminal RecordMedically fitDuties and Responsibilities
Optimisation of Value-Adding Planning on Grain ProductsOptimisation of Storage Facilities within Operational Points and Harvest EstimatesIdentify and optimise optimal receipt and dispatch of grain on an Ongoing Basis per SiloReceive reports from silos, consolidate it and report on discrepanciesApplication of grading regulations during disputes and inspections and being aware of all new technology in Grain Storage and HandlingAct as a grader at any silo if relief is needed and execute grading of grain products according to regulations and standards;Daily Inspections of the Asset Register, check asset registers at the silos and remove old assetsBunker Checklist, Every week, along with pipe inspection, obtain a bunker checklist from the silos with bunkers to ensure everything is correct and in order.Management of procedures and policies regarding the safe storage of grain.Arrange with the silos to gather their samples after each harvest and then arrange for everything to be couriered to SAGL.Attend safety meetings, take minutes, and summarize "bad" incidents for the manager's safety meeting.Report any quality discrepancies directly to the senior;Provide general support to the department such as General Meetings, attend meetings such as maintenance meetings and silo manager meetings, take minutes, and pass them on.Obtain copies of Oak, HCCP and LTI certificates from the silos and keep them safe and on hand in case of any inquiries.General administrative functions such as obtaining income statement analyses from the silos, investigate discrepancies, and submit the analysesAudit all silos four times a year and submit the reports and conduct cleanliness inspections at all silos every quarter.Manage client services by ensuring processes are in place to prevent escalation of client complaintSkills
