The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa SOC Ltd (ECIC) is a National Public Entity (listed in Schedule 3B of the Public Management Act, 1 of 1999), reporting to the Department of Trade, Investment and Commerce (the dtic) with a mandate to facilitate and encourage the export of South African goods and services. The ECIC achieves this by underwriting bank loans and offshore investments and provides export credit and foreign investment insurance cover. The ECIC is a registered insurer and is regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and Prudential Authority.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE The overarching objective of the graduate program is to transition graduates from a higher learning institution to a work environment. We aim to help graduates become well-rounded young professionals with great prospects and a positive future.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES Key Measures Assist PR and Communications Specialist with graphic design elements for internal and external newsletters, print publications, social media, event management and other duties required in this area. Assist the Marketing & Branding Officer with graphic design elements on relevant industry trade events, marketing & branding initiatives, digital & programmatic marketing, as well as other duties in this area. Assist with visual updates on the website and intranet. Assist with other basic graphic design requirements across the ECIC. Assist in designing relevant branding material for ECIC events, as well as relevant projects. Key Interfaces Heads of business units and relevant professionals throughout the Corporation.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU A three-year qualification in Graphic Design or related field. Excellent understanding of graphic design software application and practice. Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop). A portfolio of illustrations or graphics from relevant study assignments will be advantageous. Applicant should be unemployed South African citizens under the age of thirty-five (35) and have not benefited from any internship previously and preferably from the formerly disadvantaged groups. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Study design briefs and determine requirements. A keen eye for aesthetics and details. Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines. Conceptualize visuals based on requirements. Prepare rough drafts and present ideas. Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software. Use the appropriate Corporate Identity (CI) colors and layouts for relevant graphics. Work with marketing & communications team to produce final design. Amend relevant designs where necessary. Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand. BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Problem Solving: Demonstrates basic problem-solving skills and appropriately applies proven solutions. Delivery: Translates business objectives into practical, prioritised, and organised action plans; ensures plans are safely and successfully implemented.
