LHAE offers three graduate programs that consider education across the lifespan: Adult Education and Community Development, Educational Leadership and Policy, and Higher Education. These programs are enriched by our internationally-recognized faculty and the diversity of our students.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Departmental Academic Operations & Administrative Services and taking functional guidance from the Academic Programs Coordinator, the Graduate Success & Student Engagement Liaison is responsible for supporting LHAE graduate students throughout their programs of study towards completion. The incumbent will both respond to a range of student inquiries and proactively lead workshops and advising sessions aimed at supporting student success. A member of the Graduate Liaison Office, the incumbent will collaborate with staff and faculty in the planning, organization, and delivery of a range of services and programmatic initiatives that enhance the student experience, increase retention, and promote timely graduation.Your responsibilities will include:Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences.Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines.Tracking and monitoring student course enrollments.Developing learning outcomes for workshops and/or services.Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming.Keeping well-informed on policies, rules, regulations and guidelines.Updating and maintaining records.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three (3) years of recent and related experience providing student services support in a post-secondary environment.Experience working directly with students to provide program and student services information, including registration, course enrollment, degree requirements, and final exams.Experience advising faculty on appropriate graduate academic guidelines and procedures, and maintaining workflows.Experience developing and delivering student presentations, and preparing content for websites and student-facing materials.Sound knowledge of University of Toronto, School of Graduate Studies, and OISE guidelines and procedures.Experience conducting data analysis, compiling data, and preparing reports.Intermediate skills in ROSI, ROSI Express, Quercus, OISE CP or similar student systems to enter data, retrieve information, and generate reports.Advanced skills in Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive) and SharePoint.A strong customer service orientation, and effective interpersonal skills to deal with students, staff and faculty with professionalism and tact.Awareness and sensitivity to diversity issues.Demonstrated ability to handle conflicting priorities and deadlines, and successfully meet deadlines with competing priorities and interruptions.Ability to take initiative and work proactively, with demonstrated experience recommending process and workflow improvements.To be successful in this role you will be:Multi-taskerOrganizedResourcefulTeam playerClosing Date: 09/29/2024, 11:59 PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - ContinuingSchedule:Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595.
