MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBPlease note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profile This internship role is for a 12 - 24 month period (fixed term contract) and will include a study component.
This developmental opportunity is structured to incorporate academic, professional, and personal skills development, with a primary focus on business process analysis and improvement.
It enables the intern to integrate knowledge gained through their tertiary studies with the competencies made available through actual experience in a professional work setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASAs a graduate, you will be given exposure to the following key areas of operation:
Business process mapping, analysis, and improvementBusiness requirements gathering and managementData gathering, manipulation, analysis, modelling and reportingMulti-disciplinary team collaborationDocumentation, presentation, communication and project coordination skillsIn addition, you will be exposed to project management and business process efficiency management within a Business performance environment.
You could also provide project administration support to the assigned Project Manager(s) in the successful execution and delivery of projects as well as additional administrative support for the assigned teams in business development or business improvement within the business performance team.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: A Tertiary qualification in the field of process related engineering (Industrial Engineering Degree) (B.Eng. or B.Sc.Eng) is essentialREQUIRED EXPERIENCEThe intention of this internship role is to gain experience working within a business performance and Enterprise Project Office (EPO) environment, therefore no specific project experience will be required.REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEProcess mapping and improvementData gathering and analysisData visualisation and communicationProject coordination and managementKnowledge of Process management principlesComputer skills in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and SharePoint, Power BIDemonstrate basic proficiency in data management and analyticsUnderstanding of Project Management methodologiesKnowledge of and competence in quality improvement methodologies and aspects of cost managementAll applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
