Wynberg Boys' Junior School has an exciting SGB opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate in the position of Grade R & RR Departmental Head. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the school's Grade RR and Grade R portfolio through mentorship and guidance of staff, ensuring that effective learning takes place and the facilities are managed effectively. This is a leadership/management role for a positive and forward-thinking individual, reporting to the Headmaster.
Requirements ? 5 years experience in a management/leadership/senior role.
? Relevant professional and accredited qualification in Foundation Phase Education.
? Teaching experience in the Foundation Phase.
? Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
? Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
? Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
? Must be able to multitask, prioritise, and work well under pressure
? Solid track record of excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
? Must be computer literate specifically on the Google platform.
? Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor individuals as well as a team.
? Familiar with health, safety, and security protocols in a school or preschool environment and a genuine love for children.
? SACE registered.
? Police clearance and Child Protection Clearance certificates are required.
? Must be proactive and willing to participate in extramurals.
? To display a genuine interest in child development, with kindness and compassion.
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
? General oversight of both Grade R and Grade RR
? Managing, leading and motivating all educators at both levels to reach their fullest potential
? Responsibility for both facilities and ensuring that they are properly managed
? Liaise with the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) as and when necessary
? Run learner support groups
? Manage boys who need extending
? Responsibility for the development of staff reporting to them
? Budgeting for the Department
? Parent Engagement
? Workload distribution
