Grade Controller

The Grade Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate ore extraction by monitoring and controlling the grade and quality of mined materials.Gather and report underground grade control data to management.Ensure a good understanding of the general geological conditions.Observe and report geological disturbances to the geology department.Understand the lateral variations of the Hotazel Formation.Conduct panel assessments through identifying reef conditions, measuring, and recording of over and under breaks.Ensure maximum ore reserve extraction.Adhere to all mine and legal regulations.Identify and report all sub-standard conditions.Daily planning of work and coordinating work with others.Must be familiar with practices that cause dilution and contamination of the grade.Good understanding and interest in geology and underground exploration drilling projects.Good understanding and practical knowledge of mining.Good understanding of SHE policies and procedures.Understand the principles of grade and value distribution.Observe and recognize geological conditions.Thorough understanding of the service requirements related to operational grade control process.Minimum Requirements:Grade 12/NQF Level 4.Advanced Survey/Advanced Sampling.Degree in Geology will be advantageous.Minimum of 5 years' experience in mining environment and grade control.
