PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Manage all golf and golf related activities and business.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:?
Plans, promotes and directs all golf activities?
Prepares annual and monthly budgets for golf operations - takes corrective actions asnecessary to help assure that budget goals are attained?
Ensures that pin positions, tee positions, dustbin positions are correctly implemented?
Makes sure that there is enough course equipment such as rakes, drinking water, teesigns, buggy signs, roped off areas, GUR signs, wet area signs?
Oversees the green speed and green condition is as per his/her satisfaction or asdirected by the committee?
Co-operates with the greens keeper about maintenance issues effecting playabilityon the course?
Assists in the development short and long term plans for improvements to the golfcourse?
Orders supplies, after confirmation by the CEO, that are associated with golfingactivities?
Helps out in the Pro Shop with check ins if and when necessary?
Helps out and checks scoring if and when necessary?
Monitors cash ups in the shop if and when necessary?
Looks after the handicaps and handicapping system of the club?
Looks after all league teams entered by the club and in particular manages thescratch league team whenever they play.
Must also coordinate uniforms and organizeteam building of the league members?
Consults with Club Shop on appearance and stock?
Selects, supervises, trains and evaluates golf personnel, pro shop, locker room,driving range, golf bag and club storage employees and the on course personnel?
Plans professional development and training activities for subordinates?
Schedules the staff rosters for all of the golf staff to ensure the members andcorporates are fully served and that labour costs are maintained?
Monitors staff performance daily?
Looks after and accommodates the Ladies section?
Assist with any member related issues?
Must play golf with the members of all skill levels to generate enthusiasm?
Oversees the charges and the fees for golf related activities together with the CEOand when necessary the committee?
Consults with the CEO regarding the golf course and practice areas, operations andclub maintenance.
Takes a daily drive around the course to pay attention to coursedetail?
Attends all staff, management, golf committee and other applicable meetings?
Adheres to all rules regarding health, safety and employment?
Administers green fees systems and bookings, Consults with the driving range on the appearance and quality of the operation?
Plans social evenings to promote golf and fellowship among members and guests?
Attends national and sectional conferences, meetings and shows if and whennecessary?
Interprets and enforces club rules, golf rules, policies and regulations?
Oversees and manages golf operations including golf staff for corporate golf days?
Is responsible for bookings and making arrangements of Golf Groups, Clubs &Societies?
Must maintain his/her visibility to members at tee off times, in the clubhouse and takepart in promoting pro active marshalling either by himself/herself or his golf staff?
Organises and conducts club tournaments and other related events includingcoordination of posters, score recording and rules management?
Management and training of caddies, this is on the basis of golf day caddierequirements and availability of caddies, includes regular instruction to fix pitch marksand repair bunkersHOURS OF WORKOur normal requirements are shifts of 05h45 to 15h00 or 10h00 to 18h00 during the week.However on golf days the Director must ensure that all is covered until prize giving has beencompleted.
We also require that the golf director must be available to work three weekends amonth.
If you are on duty at the weekend, your hours would be at least 05.30 until 18.00 in summerand 05.45 until 17.45 in winter.
