Job DescriptionFunctional Job Description - General Ledger Accountant FSSCReports to: Finance Operations ManagerSupervises: None1. Basic FunctionThe General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the overall accounting and reporting activities and is the key point of contact for a specific entity or entities.2. Primary Duties and Responsibilities2.1 FinancialResponsible for the general ledger (incl. monthly reconciliation) of one or more entities and drives and executes the Month End Close process.Prepares financial reporting to Fugro Group and external parties.Manages the Fixed Assets register.Key point of contact for the Controller of the entities, AP and AR Accountants, Group Controlling, Tax Accountant (in FSSC or Region), and external auditors; liaises with Tax and Treasury.Continuously looks for improvements in the management of the general ledger, Month End Close, and Financial Reporting processes.Initiates and drives improvement projects.Works according to Fugro FSSC process model and ICS model.2.2 AdministrationOverall responsible for FSSC scope of accounting & reporting activities of one or more entities.3. Principal Working RelationshipReports to Finance Operations Manager (Senior or Junior depending on experience and entity scope).4. Education / Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance; 5+ years of relevant working experience.Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (if applicable).Computer literate.Excellent English language skills.Excellent communication skills.Competencies: accurate, independent, organized, pro-active, service-minded, team player.
