JOB DESCRIPTIONNOV South Africa is seeking a temp GL Accountant Assistant. This position is part of the Africa Accounting Shared Service team and supports the team with accounting and filing work required for accounting activities and financial audits.Key Responsibilities:Perform accounting activities on an "as needed" basis, including: Monthly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts PayableBalancing the General Ledger to AR and AP sub-systemsProcessing payments through the ERP system and reconciling statementsObtaining inter-company invoices and documents, accruing unprocessed invoices, and reconciling inter-company balancesEnsuring alignment between the General Ledger and Fixed Asset/Lease sub-systemsPreparing and processing relevant journals with supporting informationMaintaining Balance Sheet Reconciliations per corporate requirementsFollowing up on corrections and clearing balance sheet reconciling itemsQualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a shared service or multi-country environmentStrong understanding of accounting principles and practicesProficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft OfficeExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join a dynamic team and contribute to the financial operations of our Africa business.
