Hire Resolve is currently working with a leading consulting engineering firm that is looking for a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape.
This is a contract position.
Responsibilities: Conducting detailed site investigations and assessments to analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
Designing foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks to ensure stability and safety.
Offering expert consultation on soil mechanics, geotechnical principles, and related project aspects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Performing advanced geotechnical analyses using cutting-edge software and techniques.
Overseeing construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications.
Ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Supervising the implementation of geotechnical design solutions during construction.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (Pr.
Eng) registration with ECSA.
Valid driver's license.
5 to 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
Working knowledge of Department of Transport and SANRAL design methodologies, including TMH21 (DER).
Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering, with a preference for consulting and construction supervision experience.
Strong proficiency in geotechnical software and modeling tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Proven expertise in geotechnical design and analysis according to local and international design codes.
