Geologist

RPO Recruitment is currently working with a leading mining company in Mpumalanga who is looking for an experienced Geologist to join their team.As a Geologist in the mining industry, you will be responsible for various geological tasks including conducting geological surveys, analyzing geological data, and providing expert insights to support mining operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and utilize your knowledge and skills to contribute to the efficient and safe exploration and extraction of mineral resources.Responsibilities:Implement and maintain the Geological Management SystemAdvise and consult with the Mine Manager and the Management team on operational geology issuesConduct legal Geological inspections and submit reports on deviations and good practices observedPrepare and submit monthly statistical reports to the management teamCollaborate with the Department of Mineral Resources and Mine Manager on geological mattersFollow up on Geological audit reports, action plans, and incident reportsProvide input into mine planning processesConduct technical valuation of coal deposits, resources, and reservesPerform geological due diligence on coal prospectsCompile Prospecting Work ProgrammesEngage with interested and affected parties regarding Environmental Management Program processesProvide professional geological consultancy to support the efficient, safe, and profitable exploration of ore bodiesRequirements:Grade 12 or equivalentBSc (Hons) in Geology or related fieldRegistered with SACNASP as a Professional Natural ScientistMinimum of 5 years' experience in Coal Mining GeologyExtensive experience in operational and exploration geology, including drilling, grade control, and geophysicsExtensive experience in coal resource estimation and modellingBenefits:Salary: NegotiableFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Paid Time Off (PTO) of applicableContact RPO Recruitment for your next career opportunity.Apply for this role today, contact Anzaan Kennedy at RPO Recruitment or on LinkedIn.
