Maintenance Supervisor Job Description Responsibilities: Compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policies.
Investigate all incidents and accidents as per SOPs.
Ensure action is taken on all deviances identified.
Ensure a safety conscious working environment.
Maintenance Management: Execute maintenance work in accordance with maintenance management policy.
Ensure that root cause failure analysis (RCFAs) action plans are executed within assigned deadlines.
Assist subordinates with fault finding and technical analysis on machines.
Advise on applicable parts and components to be replaced or re-used.
Review planned maintenance work based on breakdowns and RCFAs.
Ensure that workforce is adequately equipped with tools and equipment to execute the required work safely and as per OEM standards.
Labour Management: Assist the maintenance manager to fill vacancies.
Review the performance of the engineering foremen on a monthly basis.
Manage workshop and plant discipline.
Initiate training and development matrix for the workforce and put action plans in place to fill the gaps.
Equipment Availability: Conduct monthly and quarterly inspections on all equipment.
Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function.
Desired Experience & Qualification: National Senior Certificate.
Must have N4 or Equivalent Engineering Tertiary qualification.
Must be a qualified Artisan (Fitter/Electric).
5 years previous experience as Supervisor/Foreman in the Crushing and Screening industry.
Relevant experience in an open cast mining environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proven record of supervisory skills.
Problem solving techniques and the application thereof.
Extensive knowledge of technical field of heavy machinery equipment.
Package & Remuneration: Market-related.
