Group Site Manager: ManufacturingWe have an exciting job opportunity based in Cape Town for a Group Site Manager: Manufacturing. Furniture manufacturing experience would be advantageous. No chancers please.The General Site Manager will direct and control all business activities relating to a specific manufacturing site, from sourcing and managing raw materials through to the manufacturing process, quality control, warehousing, and final distribution to the Company's customer base. Responsibilities include:Admin, HR, IR, Maintenance, Asset Management, Risk Management, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, and Site Security.Develop annual site budgets and manage/control all site costs.Plan and direct all site activities with your Management team.Manage plant, premises, and building facilities, focusing on continuous improvement through lean initiatives.Manage the workforce, maintain discipline, develop staff, and build a dynamic team.Provide training, ensure multiskilling of staff, and manage operational risk.Ensure a secure and safe working environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee plant efficiencies to ensure daily production plans are completed while maintaining quality standards.Manage the on-time ordering and receiving of raw materials, maintaining an accurate stock control system.Ensure on-time delivery of planned orders/loads and manage subcontractors according to their agreed SLAs.Manage maintenance infrastructure and ensure a preventative maintenance plan is in place.Coordinate all offsite warehousing requirements.Manage the security infrastructure of the business, ensuring the safety of staff, plant, and assets.Lead operational human capital interventions.Identify performance-enhancing projects and apply Lean techniques for continuous improvement.Provide budgets for wage and salary staff, manufacturing, and distribution expenses.Coordinate safety or regulatory compliance activities with zero findings.Other SkillsAbility to work under pressure.Accountable for one's actions.Diplomatic and assertive.Create a united and disciplined workforce.Ability to handle a large workforce of over 800 employees.Desired Experience & QualificationQualifications required: Relevant Bachelor's Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7.Experience required: Minimum of 10 years' experience, with manufacturing experience. Furniture manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous.
