JOB TITLE: General Sales ManagerAREA: LanglaagteINDUSTRY: Board ManufacturingSalary / CTC: R 50 000 – R 75 000 (depending on current earnings, qualifications and experience)Report to: General ManagerJob Summary:The Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and driving the sales team to achieve the company's revenue goals with specific focus on exclusive and value-added products and processes.
This role involves not only leading a team of sales manager and sales representatives but also implementing effective sales processes and analysing sales data to inform strategic decisions.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of sales methodologies, and exceptional analytical abilities to optimise sales performance.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Management:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives to meet and exceed sales targets.Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and develop individual and team skills.Foster a positive and high-performance sales culture.Use technical expertise to provide in-depth product knowledge and training to the sales team.Sales Strategy & Planning:Develop and implement sales strategies and processes to drive growth and improve efficiency.Collaborate with senior management to align sales strategies with overall company goals.Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales tactics.
Analytical & Reporting:Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Prepare and present detailed sales reports and forecasts to senior management.Utilise CRM and other tools to track sales performance and ensure accurate reporting.Process Implementation & Optimization:Design and implement efficient sales processes and procedures.Ensure that sales representatives adhere to company policies and standards.Continuously review and improve sales processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.Utilise data-driven approaches to monitor and optimise sales workflows.Customer Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.Ensure that the sales team delivers excellent customer service.Qualifications & Skills:Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
An MBA or equivalent is a plus.Experience:Minimum of 7 years of experience in a sales management role.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.Experience in managing a sales team and implementing sales processes.Experience with sales into the SADC Region will be an added benefit.
Skills:Strong analytical abilities with experience in sales data analysis and reporting.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Ability to implement and refine sales processes effectively.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
