General Production Manager

Our client, a private agricultural company, based in Paarl, is looking for a dedicated General Production Manager with extensive experience in the production of table grapes in the Cape Winelands area. This position requires a strategic & operational approach from a leader who can work independently & in collaboration with the Board of Directors of the company, while achieving effective organization, planning & execution of the Company's success.The General Production Manager will lead a team of farm managers & will actively participate in the production & operations activities.The ideal candidate will be responsible for (but is not limited to):Management of staff & performance of employeesMotivation & upliftment of agricultural workforce as well as internal training & developmentBudgeting & management of costs & productivity of the workforceStrategic contributions to the Director to ensure future growth of the businessManagement of chemicals & fertilizer applications & record keeping at the Farm Management programManages preparation of vineyards from the pruning process through the packing process & post-harvest controlDevelopment of new vineyards & maintenance of established vineyardsQuality management of product & processesDirect coordination of the overall operations of the various farm units & other agricultural activitiesManages maintenance of the designated units & housing of employeesAll other leadership and production functions related to the role.Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:Diploma or degree in Agriculture would be beneficial;Minimum 10 years' experience in the table grape industry in a similar role;Experience in irrigation systems, fertigation irrigation & drainage will be beneficial;Self-motivated & good communication & leadership skills;Excellent computer literacy (MS Office);Full bilingual (Afrikaans & English).A market-related compensation package, housing as well as a competitive bonus package are offered for this position.Please apply online at www.m3online.co.za before 09:00 on 22 July 2024.For general enquiries, contact our team at M3 Human Capital Management on 021 863 1444.Please note that only shortlisted candidates are contacted.
