General ManagerSouth Africa's premier supplier of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Cleaning Chemicals, Paper Products, Industrial Consumable Supplies, and Workwear is looking for a General Manager to join their successful team.The General Manager will be based at the company's Cape Town branch but will travel extensively to oversee the other branches in George, Vredenburg, and Worster as well.Scope:The achievement of Sales and gross margin targets and manage expenses within budget. Manage efficient branch operations (i.e., Sales, Call Centre, Logistics, Warehouse, and Admin) by managing productivity targets and ensuring adherence to operating procedures. Build strong Customer relationships, customer-centric front line, and ensure consistent delivery of excellent Customer service across all departments.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure achievement of profitability by managing margins and discountsEnsure the company's ways of selling is adhered to by Sales RepsMonitor and manage expenditure within flexi budgeting (revenue and income achievement)Implement corrective action where targets are not achieved to ensure consistent profit growth of the branchEnsure goods received are checked, GRV'ed, and put away dailyEnsure accuracy of stock through daily cycle countsEnsure customer satisfaction by delivering in full and on timeAchieve agreed Customer Service turnaround standardsEnsure deliveries to Customers by the couriers are within agreed service standardsMonitor Customer service standards in the Call Centre /Internal SalesEnsure the Warehouse operates within standard operating proceduresEnsure all complaints and queries are resolved within SLA's e.g., logistics, pricing, returns, and repairsEstablish and build Customer relationships and take personal ownership of resolving complaintsDrive usage of digital platform by promoting and implementing online transactionsManage head counts and overtime within agreed budgetsMaintain effective leave planning and absenteeism managementFacilitate training and development interventionsReview performance in discussion with employees, agree ratings, and set goals for new periodContinuously communicate and provide constructive feedback and coaching to employeesTake disciplinary action where requiredDevelop formal succession plan for key positionsAdhere to OHSA requirements e.g., training, safety reps, administration, meetingsEnsure the protection and security of all company assets within policy and procedureImplement and ensure adherence to all internal controls.Compile meaningful and accurate management reportsDesired Experience & QualificationGrade 123-year qualification in Business Management or Commerce8-10 years Sales and Operational Management preferably in the PPE industry at a Senior Management LevelStrong Leadership skillsOrganized with attention to detailA team player who works well with othersProactive natureExcellent Communication skills and interpersonal skillsShould you not receive a response within 14 days of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.Package & Remuneration
