Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Cape Town distribution center, ensuring smooth logistics, inventory management, and supply chain functions.
Support Sales Team: Work closely with the GM of Sales to align operational activities with sales strategies, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Logistics & Distribution: Manage the transportation and delivery of products to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution to clients across the region, focusing on the 90% redistribution business.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Vendor & Supplier Management: Maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely procurement of inventory to meet business needs.
Inventory & Stock Control: Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock levels are optimized and that products are readily available for redistribution and retail.
Customer Service & Quality Control: Ensure that customer service standards are upheld, addressing any operational issues that may affect the delivery of services.
Compliance & Health & Safety: Ensure that all operations comply with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of operations management experience, preferably within the liquor, FMCG, or distribution sectors.
Operational Skills: Strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and process optimization.
Experience in managing large-scale distribution and inventory control is essential.
Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
Collaboration: Ability to work closely with the sales team to support business growth and ensure operational alignment with sales objectives.
