Our well-established client in the hotel and resort industry is looking for a General Manager to join their team and will be reporting to the Hotel Management Services Divisional Operations Manager. You will be accountable for the overall strategy and profitable management of the Hotel and Casino, while ensuring the highest standards of service and product knowledge of the entire business unit. JOB SCOPEThe position will manage the day-to-day hands-on management of both the Hotel and Casino, whilst enhancing the product and service offering through continuous innovation and the development of the staffing compliment. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): FinancialŸ Prepare annual budgets, business plans, sales and marketing plans, quarterly ministerial reports and all other reports and plans as may be required from time to time.Ÿ Analyse financials to drive revenues, plan capital expenditure projects, manage operational and payroll costs in order to maximise return on investment. PeopleŸ Oversee all HR and IR related matters within the business.Ÿ To create a culture of excellence and development.Ÿ To oversee the Companys Corporate & Social Investment program.Ÿ To Manage the Companys performance measurement process and remuneration policy. OperationalŸ Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and company assets.Ÿ To take a hands-on approach in all facets and departments of the building.Ÿ To ensure that the highest possible standards are adhered to in all departments of the Company. Minimum requirements:Preference will be given to previous experience as a General Manager in a 100 plus bedroom Hotel / Casino within the 4 / 5-star market.Ÿ Diploma / Degree in Hospitality Management or a similar qualification relevant to the industry / position.Ÿ Must have experience in Casino operations.Ÿ Excellent communication skills.Ÿ Highly developed service ethic and professional charm.Ÿ An analytical approach to problem solving and general management.Ÿ Fluency in English and one other official language with a third language being a recommendation.Ÿ Ability to work in relative isolation with limited supervision.Ÿ Ability to liaise with the property owner and manage the relationship between the property owner and operational management.Ÿ Enthusiasm for employee development.The position is a live-out position.Namibian ID If you meet all the above requirements, please email your updated CV in Word format along with a copy of your Namibian ID
