Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Lead the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets for both redistribution (90%) and retail (10%) operations.Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence in Cape Town and beyond.Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, including retail partners, hospitality businesses, and other distribution channels.Redistribution Strategy: Oversee and refine the redistribution strategy to ensure efficient and effective delivery to a wide range of clients, managing bulk orders and ensuring consistent service levels.Retail Operations: Support the retail arm of the business by aligning sales strategies with retail objectives and ensuring that the brand's retail presence is optimized.Team Leadership & Development: Mentor, motivate, and lead the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and innovation.Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales plans to achieve business goals, including forecasting, budgeting, and regular reporting on performance metrics.Negotiation & Deal Closure: Handle complex negotiations with major clients and distributors to secure profitable deals, ensuring win-win solutions for all stakeholders.Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviors to adapt strategies and stay ahead of market changes.Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience, with a significant portion of that in liquor, FMCG, or related sectors.
Proven experience in redistribution is critical.Sales Skills: Strong sales acumen, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and grow revenue streams.Leadership: Experience leading and developing high-performance sales teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to inspire and drive results.Client Focus: Exceptional client relationship management skills with the ability to build trust, handle negotiations, and maintain long-term partnerships.Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term sales strategies while responding to short-term challenges and market changes.Driven & Results-Oriented: A hunter mentality with the desire to achieve ambitious goals and a fire in the belly to grow the business.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business, or a related field.Extensive experience in liquor distribution or FMCG sales preferredProven track record of managing large accounts and exceeding sales targetsStrong understanding of Cape Towns market dynamics, distribution networks, and customer base.
