Job Description
A custodian for the Human Resources development, alignment, HR policies, and implementation of strategies to create a conducive business environment for the Brits Plant.
Provide Human Resources organisational leadership to ensure compliance with the country's Labour Legislations.
Lead the development and/or maintenance in communicating and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency in the application thereof.
To facilitate the development of processes that promote sound working relationships between all internal stakeholders (employees, Management, shop stewards, and Union Officials) at the Brits Plant.
Responsible for the management of Human Resources department budget.
Ensure training and development of the HR team in line with identified training needs.
Responsible for the implementation of Transformation initiatives for the Brits plant - BBBEE, Employment Equity, Succession Plan etc.
Actively play a leading management role to negotiate and reach agreements with the shop stewards and Union Officials on various issues impacting the business as and when necessary.
Manage all Labour Relations matters at the Brits plant and ensure record keeping of all necessary documentation, which includes but is not limited to Recognition Agreement, Dispute resolution, and Disciplinary processes.
Always provide support when required to the Training & Development Manager to ensure that training interventions for Brits plant are conducted in collaboration with Management.
Participate and support Training and Development initiatives in line with various Labour Legislations.
Ensure that the Apprentice Technical Training Centre managed by an external company adheres to the Memorandum of Agreement with Bosch through constant liaison and resolve any resulting issues.
Manage and ensure the delivery of the company's Disease Management Programme, including regular review and reporting on progress, appointment of service provider, legal compliance etc.
Manage and ensure relevant policies and programmes, such as HIV/AIDS, Awareness campaigns are implemented, monitored, and reported to management.
Manage Brits Plant Corporate Social Responsibility activities in consultation with Management.
In conjunction with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer, ensure that regular meetings are held, safety representatives, first-aiders, and fire fighters are elected and trained as per legislation.
Ensure that the HSE Officer responsible for SHE gives training records and certificates to the Training department for record keeping and reporting.
Manage Wellness initiatives and ensure that the Company Clinic, Psychologist, and the Canteen services are well run and always resolve any resulting issues.
Manage Recruitment support service, ensuring the recruitment process is followed as per policy, Central Directives, and Labour Legislations.
Manage and supervise subordinates to effectively perform their tasks to deliver required services to the employees and managers of the Brits plant.
Responsible to develop the HR Cost Center budget and ensure costs are managed accordingly.
Accountable for the audit results being conducted from time to time and resolution of any resulting issues.
Always provide HR guidance to management as a Key member of the Brits Senior management team.
Interact and brief the Legal Counsel as and when legal issues arise and actively participate in the resolution of such matters.
Participate in the monthly management meetings as scheduled and report on HR related issues.
Participate in the Brits Industrial Association monthly meetings representing Bosch company.
Perform any other related tasks as directed by the Line Manager.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources.
Experience
5-8 years' experience in HR environment at senior management level, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle cases at CCMA / Dispute Resolution centre.
Ability to analyse and decipher complex information.
Presentation skills at senior management level.
Proven track record of at least 5 years managing in a unionised environment.
Experience in managing at strategic level is essential.
Decision making on complex HR matters.
Ability and experience to draft negotiated agreements between union and the Company.

NB: As this role is based in a manufacturing plant, you are required to be at the office for a minimum of four working days per week.
