The Hoek Flowers South Africa General Manager Exports is responsible for developing, applying, and monitoring the exports distribution, performance, targets, market share, and overall direction.
The export manager must handle all areas of global business in terms of prices, offerings, relationships, sales, growth, logistics, and compliance, as well as oversee the operations of the warehouse.
Requirements 3 years of experience in the export of perishables.
Knowledge of flowers required.
Strong skills in financial analysis.
Computer literate, particularly in Excel and Microsoft.
Knowledge of software such as Florisoft is advantageous.
A fast learner who can pick up new systems and software.
Self-driven to drive sales and develop exports.
Strong financial acumen.
Well organized and fast-paced to action.
Code B driver's license.
Cape Town based (Needs to be on-site, semi-remote).
Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally.
Responsibilities Sourcing Product: Establish and manage relationships with international partners, including distributors, agents, and vendors.
Airfreight: Negotiate shipping contracts, freight rates, and freight forwarding agreements along with the head office.
Monitor shipment volume and increase volume with freight forwarders.
Phyto generation.
Order Fulfillment: Liaise with growers and colleagues worldwide.
Ensure assortment and price list generation.
Quality control.
Operational Management: Oversee total export operations and team (process from start to finish), including problem-solving, documentation, financial administration, etc.
Data Analysis: Conduct strong data analysis of sales, targets, financial analysis, and reporting.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement export strategies to maximize profits and minimize costs (new markets, etc.).
