Safari JOBS is searching for a strong General Manager / Couple for a large, busy game lodge situated in the North West province.
The successful candidates will have solid experience in handling a relatively large staff compliment as well as in handling a predominantly busy lodge with high guest occupancies, especially during peak periods.
You will be supported by a team comprising of a number of HOD's and senior team members.

Minimum Requirements:
Hospitality related qualification;
Minimum 5 - 7 years of general management experience in a recognised min. 4* hotel or lodge;
Knowledge of the game lodge industry;
Exceptional food and beverage knowledge;
Awareness of international trends and developments within the food and lodge industries;
Good knowledge of budgeting and financial management;
Good computer skills – MS Excel and MS Word in particular;
Fluent in English. Fluency in a second European language – bonus;
Valid RSA drivers' licence and own transport.

Responsibilities:
Lead the full morning meeting every day and follow through with HOD briefing each morning;
Ensure smooth flow of information through all three camps and ensure guests are happy and cared for;
Be the visual face of the business and interact with guests and employees;
Manage any HR issues timeously;
Evaluate and manage guest feedback;
Supervise the HOD roles;
Complete any required reporting such as the daily operational update and revenue reports to head office;
Review the progress of orders and payments as well as overall management of petty cash;
Agent site inspections;
Hosting;
Attend to all maintenance issues - is a maintenance team but need to receive instructions; quality needs to be checked of the team and outside maintenance contractors;
Control staff gratuities;
Oversee departmental stock takes;
Oversight of all ordering to ensure quality products are procured and finances controlled;
Complete monthly operational report for Directors;
Complete month end process;
Complete salary detail for permanent and temporary employees;
Take part in the budgeting process with HODs and then head office finance to ensure the required finances are allocated to the operation;
Conduct performance appraisals with your HODs;
Annual salary reviews;
Planning of all leave schedules;
Visit head office for budget process, reservations, sales and marketing liaison and update presentations.
Compensation and Benefits:
Monthly gross remuneration: R40 – R50, 000.00 potentially further NEG DOE and qualifications;
Provident fund: 5% employee, 2% employer contribution after first 3 months;
Performance based bonus at the discretion of the company;

Meals: 3 per day;
Uniform;
Laundry of work and personal items.
Work cycle: 6 days off per month + 15 days leave per annum.
