GENERAL MAINTENANCE/HANDYMAN / EAST LONDON – Our client is looking to employ a skilled and reliable handyman to join their maintenance department. The successful Candidate will be responsible for upkeep and repair duties including maintaining green spaces, identifying the need for repairs, and servicing company equipment. Strong problem solving, skilful hands, good physical strength, and strong technical knowledge are skills required for this role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh school Grade 10 or equivalent qualification required.A minimum of 3 years' working experience in a similar role.Solid experience with general maintenance work.Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.Extremely organized with good communication skills.Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSPaintingTilingCarpet laying and cleaningChanging of doors and locksChanging and repair of windows and hingesChanging of light bulbsRepairs of cabinet hinges and general woodwork (Basic carpentry)(CPT) Grass cutting and tree trimmingBasic plumbingResponsibilities:Key Performance Areas: Safety complianceEfficient unit turn over repairsMaintenance and repairsPerform basic tasks including carrying out maintenance repairs, such as:Painting and filling minor cracks,Basic carpentry work (repairs to doors and windows),Basic plumbing, electrical and safety work,Plastering and brick work (minor works)Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment or appliances.Perform garden services, maintain and improve green spaces.Detect and report the need for minor to major maintenance repairs.Regularly check communal spaces to identify issues with litter, maintenance or breakdowns.Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.Oversee the refuse cages stay clean on the company premises.Provide management with support and guidance on maintaining site operations.Salary – Market related (depending on experience)APPLICATION PROCESS:
