Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive and reliable General Estate Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our estate.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing a water manufacturing plant, sewage plant, and general estate maintenance, including supervising a small team.
This role requires someone with a solid understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and the operation of various machinery and tools, including chainsaws and power tools.
The General Estate Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the functionality of the electric fence and managing staff effectively to maintain the estates standards.
Key Responsibilities: Water Manufacturing Plant: Ensure the proper functioning of the water manufacturing plant, including regular checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
Sewage Plant: Oversee the sewage treatment process, working every second Saturday to ensure proper treatment and system operation.
Estate Maintenance: Supervise general estate maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, branch trimming, and overall landscape care.
Team Management: Oversee and manage a team of 3 staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with estate standards.
Electric Fence Maintenance: Ensure the electric fence is operational and conduct regular checks to maintain security.
Plumbing and Electrical Maintenance: Handle basic plumbing and electrical repairs and tasks, ensuring all systems run smoothly.
Machinery Operation: Safely operate power tools, machinery, and chainsaws to complete maintenance tasks around the estate.
Water Pumps: Have a working knowledge of water pump systems, performing regular checks and ensuring they are functioning properly.
Emergency Response: Be available for emergencies related to the electric fence, water pumps, or any other urgent issues on the estate.
Requirements: Proven experience in estate management, property maintenance, or a similar field.
Strong knowledge of water pumps, sewage systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in operating basic power tools, machinery, and chainsaws.
Ability to lead a small team, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair systems as needed.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
Ability to work every second Saturday and be available for emergencies.
Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills: Previous experience in managing or maintaining water manufacturing or sewage plants.
Basic knowledge of safety regulations and protocols when working with machinery and tools.
Miscellaneous Working hours from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch.
