We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Engineering Supervisor to join our mining operation in Northern Cape, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering, with extensive experience in supervising engineering teams and ensuring the successful operation of mining equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities:

Oversee and supervise a team of engineering staff, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers.
Plan and coordinate engineering projects, including maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of mining equipment and facilities.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of mining equipment and minimize downtime.
Monitor and analyze equipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize equipment productivity.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, and promote a culture of safety among engineering staff.
Collaborate with other departments, such as production and safety, to ensure the smooth operation of the mining operation.
Provide technical support and guidance to engineering staff, and mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

A Valid Trade Certificate
Grade 12
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a mining environment.
Strong knowledge of mining equipment and facilities, including crushers, conveyors, and processing plants.
Experience in developing maintenance strategies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire engineering teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the mining industry.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office suite.
