Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of General Engineering Supervisor to be placed in Karee 4 Shaft, Near Marikana, North West. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Effective support and control of daily and monthly project and engineering budgets.Daily assistance on hydraulic and electrical fault finding and repairs.Effective negotiation of new and existing contracts.Effective supervision of cross border projects in alignment with project scope.Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives.Create a work environment which develops a competent, disciplined, motivated and positive team.Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows.Secure additional suppliers as per requirements.Effective system implementation and administration of M&RC's and Client's environmental, safety, standards, and procedures.Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.Section 26 Electrical Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body.Valid First Aid Certificate.Proof of formal Supervisory training in Planning, Leading, Organizing and Control.Fully conversant in English (written and verbal).Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Projects).Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: At least 10 years' practical experience in the engineering field and operational industry, of which 5 years of experience in shaft and Ore pass rehabilitation / secondary support such as wire mesh and lacing, installation of long anchors and specialized support.At least 5 years' experience in a supervisory / management level role.Experience in writing procedures and conducting baseline and issues based risk assessment.Experience in the development and maintenance of raise bore optimization.Experience and exposure to on-site legal appointments 2.9.2 & 7(4) in terms of the MHS Act.Experience in supervising international operational projects.Experience in hydraulic circuits, PLC, Soft Start and VAC circuits and drive.All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
